Support from electric motors has also found its way into the gravel sector. The HG 1800 Spline rear wheel is designed precisely for their higher loads.
The sturdy rim alone inspires a lot of confidence. Excellently crafted, it can accommodate tires up to 69 mm wide thanks to its enormous inner width of 24 mm. This generates more comfort and better grip. Of course, it is tubeless compatible, which significantly reduces the risk of punctures. In addition, the 25 mm rim height ensures good aerodynamic values on faster sections.
The reliable DT Swiss 370 hybrid hub in the modern spline design rotates in the center. The smooth-running and perfectly sealed bearings guarantee a long service life and low maintenance. Here, too, a toothed disc freewheel takes over the drive. With the very reliable Ratchet LN system, all 18 teeth always mesh with each other, which practically eliminates slipping and easily absorbs the high forces of an e-bike drive. In addition, the typical sound is unique.
The connection between the hub and the rim is made by the DT Swiss Aero Comp Straightpull Hybrid spokes. These have been reinforced, but still offer little resistance to the wind. The Pro Lock® Squorx Pro Head® nipples also contribute to the high stability. They contain a two-component adhesive that prevents accidental loosening after centering.
All of these optimizations allow DT Swiss to increase the maximum system weight to 140 kg. This means that even cyclists on long tours can pack a little more.
