The SMD2 is the first Ergon saddle that is hardly used for sitting, but is fundamental for controlling the bike. To design it, professional downhill racers have maximized the saddle's requirements in an intensive development phase. The surface design follows the saddle's slanted orientation and offers the rider full freedom of movement. Riding with the inside leg has been improved by the all-round padding of the outer edges. Other important features are the stable, shock-resistant rails and an extra-wide back. In short, it is a saddle that sits very low and with the tip slightly upwards, which facilitates the downhill position and allows greater freedom of movement and control both on technical terrain and when jumping.
