The FOX 36 Performance Elite fork receives an update in the form of a new crown with state-of-the-art design and engineering to smooth the head tube overlap, improve durability and maintain stiffness while saving 20 grams.
The Performance Elite forks retain the same settings, features, shock absorbers, weights, and 7000 Series aluminum top tubes as the Factory Series, but feature black anodized stanchions instead of the genuine Kashima coating.

NEW CROWN
The new crown design is 20 grams lighter while increasing the head tube overlap at the CSU. It improves durability while maintaining stiffness and reducing weight.
FLOATING AXLE
While thru-axles may look like other axles, they actually offer a distinct performance advantage thanks to their unique ability to precisely match the width of the fork's wheel mounting surface to the front hub flange spacing, creating perfect chassis alignment and eliminating unwanted friction between the upper and lower fork legs. Floating axles provide a much smoother suspension movement throughout the fork's travel range, significantly improving sensitivity and overall ride quality.
The all-new 36 and 38 feature a new, patent-pending, lever-actuated quick-release thru-axle system that combines the benefits of a floating axle with the ease of quick, tool-free removal. This system uses a floating sleeve to lock the spacing, allowing the front wheel to be repeatedly removed and reinstalled while maintaining perfect fork alignment. The floating sleeve positioning is preset at the factory, so if you're not sure how to use the thru-axle or simply don't want to mess with it, you can simply install the front wheel and continue riding.
Available as an option is the new Kabolt-X, a lightweight bolt-on floating axle exclusive to the all-new 36 and 38, which not only reduces weight but also increases torsional rigidity thanks to its sleeveless, single-sided clamp bolt design. With Kabolt-X and 40 floating axles, the chassis alignment must be reset every time the front wheel is removed and reinstalled, but the end result is the same: perfect alignment and perfect performance.
