Developing new shoe soles is a bit like constantly improving your favorite recipe. The basic recipe stays the same, only the ingredients are refined and adjusted. Following this principle, ION has further refined its flat pedal shoes with the optimal combination of grip, durability, usability and style. The main ingredient, the Pin Tonic Sole Concept 2.0, has been further developed to meet the tastes of all riders. The new outsole has a positive profile in the front and rear areas, ensuring a firm grip when you push or carry your bike. The negative profile in the middle area, on the other hand, offers perfect grip for the pins while riding. In addition, the rubber compound has been updated, which now provides even more grip. Since, despite innovations, the tried and tested ingredients should not be forgotten, ION is once again relying on a comfortable EVA midsole and a cozy insole. Since grip is not the only element for optimal power transmission, the Scrub Amp has a flatter profile in the toe area, which increases contact with the pedal. ION has learned that grip is not the most important thing in a good bike shoe and also offers protection for the toes against stones and roots and for the ankles thanks to ankle pads and an asymmetric shaft. The outsole profile has a positive profile in the forefoot and heel area for the best grip when pushing or carrying the bike. The negative profile, on the other hand, offers the pins plenty of surface area to grip and thus contributes to a secure hold on the pedal. In addition, the SUPTraction_rubber compound offers optimal grip.
