The Forekaster was originally designed by Maxxis as a bad weather tire for cross country, while the new version was specifically optimized for use in the short travel trail bike segment with 100 to 130mm suspension travel - aka down country.
Designed to be a jack of all trades, the new Forekaster rolls significantly better than its predecessor and offers solid cornering and braking traction in a variety of trail conditions.

The new Forekaster connects and closes the gap between the fast-rolling XC tires (Aspen, RekonRace, Ikon and Rekon) and the downhill-focused profiles (Dissector, Minion DHF, DHR2 and Assegai) in the MAXXIS mountain bike portfolio.
