Contrary to the name, it is not a cannonball ride - with its completely new profile design, the Minion DHR II is the ideal tire for aggressive gravity rides. With the side lugs of the legendary DHF, which have been slightly widened for even more traction in the curves. The center lugs are beveled to enable better acceleration and braking. The cut profile in the longitudinal direction makes turning into high-speed curves child's play.

Wide Trail Casing (WT)

This special carcass construction optimizes the profile layout and the tire shape on today's modern wider rims. Traditional tires are developed for narrow rims and have a shape that is too square on wide rims and therefore do not perform optimally. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 40 mm.

Tubeless Ready (TR)

Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of a puncture is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for installation with sealant than other "tubeless ready" tires. The bead of our TR tires is completely covered with a layer of rubber, just like a real UST tubeless tire.

This means that tubeless installation is successful on all rims with standard dimensions, even after the first inflation and with little liquid. "Normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can also be installed tubeless with sealant, like tires from other manufacturers, because the carcass fabric is very dense. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless installation and guaranteed by MAXXIS. Tubeless installation of other models is at your own risk.

Note: We strongly advise against using sealant that contains ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months.

EXO Protection

This extremely cut and abrasion resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB tires. It is very tightly woven, light and very flexible. This means that the performance of the tires remains consistently impressively good.

DualCompound

Two different rubber compounds are processed into a tread strip. We plan the arrangement of the compounds according to the desired properties of the tires.
