The two toothed discs of the freewheel system guarantee, unlike ratchet freewheels, that all teeth are always fully engaged. With ratchet freewheels, however, in the worst case scenario only one pawl can be engaged. This places extreme stress on the hubs and freewheel bearings. Under heavy loads (e.g. up a steep hill) total failure is usually the result. Our rear hubs only use high-quality, double-sealed industrial bearings with a special grease filling. The grease we use offers 25% higher water absorption capacity and a very high bleeding temperature, which protects the bearings from premature wear and corrosion. The 17 mm oversize rear wheel axle is tapered on the inside for weight reasons and ensures the best rigidity values. To prevent unwanted noise (especially with blade spokes), our J-Bend hubs can of course also be laced without contact. The high tolerance accuracy of all components is perfectly rounded off by the TA caps. The TA caps (Tolerance Adjustment caps) are used to compensate for all component and assembly tolerances and ensure that the bearings and hubs run for a long time and smoothly. Our rear hub is available with a Shimano freewheel as well as a Sram XD freewheel. No extra costs, no surcharge. Made in Germany.

The heart of our classic J-Bend (spoke flange for classic spoke heads) rear hub is the freewheel system. We only use the more expensive and complex, but extremely successful, toothed disc freewheels. As with our J-Bend front hub, the hub flanges in the area of ​​the spoke holes on the rear hub are also reinforced to ensure a longer service life for the hub. All of our hubs are developed and produced in Germany.
