Shimano's XT BR-M8120 4-piston hydraulic disc brake with 2-finger brake lever fits seamlessly into the powerful lineup of the new XT M8100 groupset. Highlights include more braking power with less effort and an extremely linear response to lever movement.

The new DEORE XT comes with a choice of two-piston brakes for cross-country riding or four-piston brakes for trail/enduro riding. The new brake lever design, which is mounted at an angle and thus supports the handlebars at two points, significantly increasing stiffness, provides more direct feedback and greater braking power, which is further enhanced by SERVO WAVE technology. The braking systems are characterized by faster response, higher performance, and shorter free travel.
