After SHIMANO had already set the XTR group to 12 pinions in 2018, the Japanese component giant's long-running hit, the DEORE XT, followed in 2019. As a high-end group for everyone, the XT continues to enjoy great popularity.
Technically and visually based on the slightly higher-quality XTR rear derailleur, the DEORE XT RD-M8100 12-speed rear derailleur from SHIMANO quickly makes it clear that it makes no compromises when it comes to shifting performance. Specialized in fast and crisp gear shifting in conjunction with a robust 1x drive, it impresses with a wide range of applications. From sporty XC to marathon/touring to aggressive trail and enduro blasting.
For better chain guidance when running at a greater angle, the heart of the new XT groupset also has larger guide and tension rollers with 13 teeth. They contribute to improving chain stabilization, as does SHIMANO's own Shadow RD+ design with friction damper.
