The SM-CRM96 chainrings not only form a visually cohesive unit with the XTR cranks, but also represent the highest level of technical performance. The partially enclosed design ensures unprecedented stiffness at the point of maximum power transfer – resulting in uncompromising acceleration. Despite this high performance, the use of premium aluminum keeps the weight low, and durability has been further improved.
Particular attention was paid to the shape of the individual teeth. With their special Dynamic Chain Engagement+ design, they guide the chain securely and extremely quietly, even on rough trails – and noticeably reduce wear.
The chainrings are attached using a lockring, which is installed with the Shimano bottom bracket wrench – this makes maintenance work quick and easy.
