Specialized Crux DSW Frameset

The Crux DSW is the lightest aluminum gravel bike that Specialized has ever developed. But it's so much more than that. Specialized has literally cast all the learnings from the development of the Crux Carbon in aluminum with D'Aluisio Smartweld. Thanks to the patented manufacturing technology, Specialized has built the most powerful, maneuverable, balanced and agile aluminum gravel bike of all time. It's perfect for the fastest rides at the highest level or just for having a lot of fun. Some will call it a copy, but for Specialized it deserves its own name - Crux DSW.

LOWEST WEIGHT:

Frame size 56 with the lightest paintwork weighs just 1,399 grams. Even though other series frames may differ from this, the Crux DSW is the lightest aluminum gravel bike of all time. Combined with our FACT 12r Crux carbon fork, the performance-tuned and extremely robust Crux DSW has a total weight of 9.37 kg. No other aluminum gravel bike can keep up with that.

EXTREMELY POWERFUL:

More tire clearance means more performance - that's why the Crux DSW has the same tire clearance as its carbon counterpart: 47 mm at 700C and up to 2.1 inches at 650B. This means the Crux DSW can take riders anywhere - at full throttle.

UNBELIEVABLY AGILE:

Responsive on the pedals. Smooth in the saddle. D'Aluisio Smartweld gives us the opportunity to tune the shapes of the aluminum and create a ride that only seemed possible with carbon. Because of course the Crux DSW has the same performance-oriented gravel geometry as its racing colleague. The longer reach ensures better weight distribution and fast, confident handling, while the lower stack enables a performance-oriented riding position. With a bottom bracket height of 72 mm, we have hit the sweet spot between maneuverable and stable.

D'ALUISIO SMARTWELD:

DSW is a patented construction process based on hydroforming. This involves precisely fitting tube joints to one another, resulting in better, more stable welds and ultimately a lighter frame. Such a frame is on average twice as durable as a conventional aluminum frame. With Smartweld, for example, we can produce a unique one-piece down tube with bottom bracket housing. This saves weight and improves power transmission.
