SQ-lab saddle 6OX Infinergy® Ergowave active 2.1
The first "Made in Germany" saddle from SQlab: the 6OX ERGOWAVE® active is the optimal saddle for long and steep climbs on e-MTBs, all-mountain bikes, and enduro bikes. The 6OX ERGOWAVE® saddle has been available for two years, but not in this version: Made in Germany.
What's special about the new 6OX ERGOWAVE® "Made in Germany" is the saddle foam, which is no longer made of traditional PU foam, but rather of the BASF Infinergy® material familiar from running shoes. This material is extremely robust and, especially off-road, takes comfort to a whole new level thanks to its faster recovery time. Unlike traditional saddles, the cover is not stretched over the entire surface of the saddle. Tapes are applied only at key points. These are bonded to the Infinergy® foam automatically and without adhesive.
The ergonomic saddle shape provides the right amount of relief and comfort: The wave-shaped elevation of the ERGOWAVE®, extending from the rear to the front, perfectly matches the shape of the usually bulbous ischial ramus. This significantly reduces pressure in the perineal area, or the female pubic arch.
The lower, flat, slightly curved saddle nose also reduces pressure on sensitive areas for both men and women. For even better pressure relief, especially on longer climbs, the saddle nose was designed to be wide, with a flat and as large a contact surface as possible.
The new active connection is not only lighter but also significantly smoother. This increases comfort for the sit bones and relieves pressure on the intervertebral discs. The mobilization of the intervertebral discs is now particularly noticeable. The active movement is even more adjustable in the new models, as the elastomers are smaller and lighter. A perfect fit is a prerequisite for maximum performance, and the saddle is therefore available in four different sizes.
The manufacturing technology was successfully developed a few years ago by Oechsler in Ansbach, a major automotive supplier, for a major sporting goods manufacturer. SQlab and Oechsler then jointly optimized this process for saddles. From an ecological perspective, the local sourcing of SQlab's "Made in Germany" products not only eliminates long transport routes, but also ensures extremely efficient production and compliance with strict German guidelines for harmful substances. Local manufacturing, quality assurance, and durability are crucial to the SQlab project.
