Sram HS2 two-piece brake disc

The HS2 brake discs were specifically developed for the demands of mountain biking. Compared to previous versions, both braking performance and heat dissipation have been improved. Furthermore, the HS2 discs are quieter. These improvements were achieved through a new profile that enhances brake pad traction.

Improved heat management is achieved through six recessed spokes with a special heat-dissipating coating. Additionally, the thickness of the friction ring has been increased from 1.8 mm to 2.0 mm compared to SRAM Centerline discs. These optimizations have resulted in a 7% increase in braking performance and a 40-degree reduction in disc temperature in the Garda test. Rounded edges on the top of the disc minimize the risk of injury and comply with the guidelines of the UCI, the world governing body for cycling.

As a further advantage, they simplify wheel installation because the rounded top prevents the wheel from tilting in the brake caliper. The discs are available in diameters from 160 to 220 millimeters. Thanks to their high durability, the HS2 brake discs are also ideally suited for e-MTB use.
