The cassette is compatible with all 8/9/10/11-speed Shimano freehub bodies and protects the freehub. The sprockets either feature an extra-wide profile for the freehub or are riveted to aluminum spiders that distribute the forces over a large area. This prevents, or significantly reduces, wear on aluminum freehubs.
