SRAM cassette XG-899 (EX1)

Modern e-MTBs regularly push their drivetrain to its performance limits due to the high torque and gear shifting under load. This can result in poor gear shifting and broken chains. With the EX1 groupset, the ingenious engineers at Sram have developed a drive specifically for the special requirements of e-mountain bikes, and the EX1 XG-899 E-Block™ 8-speed cassette forms the heart of the system. The E-Block™ shifting technology is a fundamentally new development in which the chain has a fixed link position on each pinion. Similar to narrow-wide chainrings, the pinions work with inner and outer chain links and thus enable optimal shifting performance even under load with full motor support, despite large gear jumps.
