Oval chainrings have rightfully established themselves in the market for some time now. Their oval shape smooths out power peaks during a pedal stroke. This is particularly helpful on steep climbs, helping to conserve muscle energy. With the Eagle Direct Mount chainrings, SRAM introduces oval chainrings with their X-Sync 2 tooth profile, optimized for both 12-speed and 11-speed drivetrains.
The X-Sync 2 tooth profile ensures significantly smoother chain operation and improved self-cleaning in muddy conditions compared to its 11-speed predecessors. Featuring the proven alternating thick-thin tooth profile, optimized for Eagle chains, the X-Sync 2 chainrings keep the chain securely in place at all times. The chainrings are available with 32 to 38 teeth. The BOOST version with a 3mm offset shifts the chainline 3mm outwards to compensate for the further outward offset of the cassette when using BOOST hubs on the rear wheel.
