Once set up, it shifts even more quietly and precisely than its purely mechanical counterpart, which directly benefits durability. The derailleur cage has also been shortened by 10 mm, which provides more ground clearance and more chain wrap on the cassette. This means that gear shifting is always carried out precisely - even under the chain load of well-trained World Cup athletes.

The Eagle AXS™ rear derailleur is so intelligent that it protects itself from external influences with its powerful overload clutch. In the event of an impact, the motor gear switches off in a fraction of a second so that the rear derailleur can move freely and avoid the impact.

It then immediately returns to its original position and is ready for your next shift command. This not only protects the shift motor, but also protects the derailleur hanger and the derailleur itself from damage as best as possible.
