SRAM XG-1270 12-speed cassette
Proven in the mountain bike sector for years, the 10-tooth sprocket is now making its way onto road bikes. This is made possible by the new SRAM XDR freehub standard. The advantages are obvious: with the same gear range, the cassette can be built even lighter. Weight can also be saved on the crankset, as smaller chainrings are needed for the same maximum gear ratio as with an 11-tooth sprocket. To keep the gear jumps small without sacrificing range, SRAM has upgraded the new Force cassette to 12-speed. The additional 12th sprocket significantly expands the cassette's range of use in combination with the eTap AXS 1x groupset. Compared to the previous version, the shift gates have been further optimized and matched to the electronic eTap AXS derailleur. The result is even faster and smoother shifting. The sprockets, made of tool steel, are connected to each other using SRAM's Mini-Cluster design with pins. The largest sprocket in the cassette, made of aluminum, ensures a significant weight reduction.
